Kwame Onwuachi

Born in the Bronx and trained in classical French cuisine at the Culinary Institute of America, Kwame Onwuachi is currently the Executive Chef and Creator of Afro-Caribbean cuisine hot-spot, Kith and Kin, in Washington, D.C. His interest in food was sparked by his mother who operated a catering company while he was growing up.

His philosophy on cooking can best be defined as telling a story through food, and his new book, Notes from a Young Black Chef: A Memoir, is available now.
